Steven L. DeBry was born, raised, and educated in Salt Lake County. He and his lovely wife Lorraine have been married for 30 years. They have three children; Josh, Tyler, and Megan and are fortunate to have three granddaughters.
Steve has been in law enforcement for almost 29 years and is a Division Commander with the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake. He currently holds the rank of Captain and is in charge of law enforcement in the Millcreek Township.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Utah in Political Science. Additionally, he has two Associates degrees from Salt Lake Community College where he graduated with honors. Steve has also attended and graduated from the F.B.I. National Academy, F.B.I. Intermountain Executive Command College, West Point Leadership Academy, and the Utah Peace Officers Standards and Training Command College.
Steve has enjoyed coaching little league football, baseball, and being an umpire as well as a Boy Scout merit badge counselor. He has a passion for early American and civil war history. He loves grass roots politics and finding out what really matters to people so that he can serve them and be their advocate. His sincere desire is to champion quality of life initiatives for the families and communities he represents.
Steve enjoys working out and most all outdoor sports and activities. He can always be found working in his yard on Saturdays, but; most of all Steve’s favorite times are those spent with his family.
Steve is known among his friends and colleagues for his honesty, integrity, forthrightness, and putting the needs of others first. He is a fiscal conservative committed to responsible growth, safe communities, circumspect spending, limited and transparent government and is committed to the protection of our environment.
