Jeff Allen was elected to represent District 5 in Salt Lake County in November 2006. He most enjoys visiting with constituents and is always available to discuss issues touching upon Salt Lake County government. His greatest passions and goals as a part-time Council Member include promoting public safety, transparent and efficient government, as well as preserving our unique lifestyle. He serves on the Hogle Zoo Executive Board, Utah Association of Counties Executive Board, and the Justice and Public Safety Committee for the National Association of Counties. Jeff also currently serves on the Law Enforcement, Community Services, and Executive Committees for Salt Lake County.
Councilman Allen has been a strong advocate for the infusion of funds to protect victims of domestic violence and the development of Family Justice Centers and well as providing the necessary resources to the District Attorney and Sheriff’s Offices. He has played a critical role in the acquisition of park and open-space land, particularly in the southern and western portions of the county. Moreover, Jeff has sponsored and supported various energy initiatives to increase the energy efficiency of new and existing county facilities. He believes in open and transparent government and is one who looks around the corners of our future when making policy and planning decisions.
Jeff is a proud graduate of Brighton High School and subsequently attended the University of Utah. Jeff is an alumnus of the U of U graduating with a BS degree in Business Finance with a real estate emphasis. Recently, Jeff formed his own commercial appraisal firm, JSA Advisors.
While Jeff has a great passion for public service, his life revolves around his family. He has been married to Celeste for 15 years and they have five fantastic children ranging from 13 to 3 years old. It is for them and their future that he has chosen to serve in this capacity, ensuring our great and unique quality of life lives on for many generations to come.
